My LinkedIn pet peeve is when people ask to connect with me using the standard introduction “I'd like to add you to my professional network,”and there is no introduction...that's it!  I have no idea who they are, where I met them if I met them at all, or why they want to connect with me.  So, when I read Michele Porfilio’s blog about LinkedIn etiquette, her message really resonated with me.  Michele really nailed all points on this subject.  Rather than try to summarize her blog, I recommend Michele’s blog be read in its entirety.  I also recommend a mental note be made of her suggestions, especially if you are experiencing a difficult time connecting with people on LinkedIn, because if you are not introducing yourself appropriately, the person you are trying to connect with may not accept your LinkedIn invitation.  Michele’s blog can be found at http://tinyurl.com/Using-LinkedIn-Etiquette.
